When my dear husband Lee was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2011, our family was stunned! He had always been so healthy, was an avid runner and took excellent care of himself. We did everything we could to help him survive this devastating disease. Lee was willing to try any treatment to stop the spread of the cancer, but it was too far advanced. He passed away on August 5, 2012, fourteen months after diagnosis.
Lee knew he was receiving the best medical care possible at TGen. The medical team was exceptional in their care and kindness during this very challenging time and became our loving family. We are forever grateful to TGen for the positive outlook and tremendous expertise and comfort they brought to Lee.
Pancreatic cancer is not discerning. It can strike anyone at any time and when it does, it is a very difficult journey. That is why our family is committed to help in any way possible, particularly in early diagnosis and treatment of this aggressive form of cancer.
Lee's doctor, Dr. Daniel Von Hoff, TGen Physician-in-Chief, has led clinical trial work that resulted in approval of 3 of the 4 drugs approved by the FDA for treatment of patients with advanced pancreatic cancer. Dr. Von Hoff and his team continue to persue clinical trials with the goal of helping patients live longer, healthier lives.
We hope you are able to join Team Lee on , for the 14th Annual stepNout Run/Walk/Dash. Your consideration of a donation in any amount toward this cause is greatly appreciated. No matter how small or large, your generous support helps in the mission to conquer this disease.
